« Back to "News" Certified Clubhouse Model Included on Federal List of Evidence-Based Practices

Crossroads Clubhouse has been accepted for inclusion as an Evidence-based Practice by a federal agency. Crossroads, located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is one of over 300 Clubhouses Crossroads certified throughout the world. The U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) conducted reviews of the ICCD Clubhouse Model and examined outcomes related to employment, quality of life, and recovery.

Research on employment showed Clubhouse members, on average, worked more hours, more days, and earned higher wages than a control group. Clubhouses offer a tiered employment program designed to integrate interested members back into meaningful and gainful employment, including Transitional Employment, Supported Employment, and Independent Employment.

Research on quality of life and recovery showed Clubhouse members reporting higher satisfaction with the Clubhouse Model than with drop-in centers. Further details are available on the National Registry of Evidence-based Practices and Programs (NREPP) website.
